Gauteng led other Provinces with the highest tally of deaths (225). The breakdown of other Provinces is as follows:
- Kwa-Zulu Natal – 218
- Eastern Cape – 134
- Western Cape – 128
- Free State – 26
- Limpopo – 11
- Mpumalanga – 11
- Northern Cape – 2
