The past 24 hours saw a drop in the number of n ew COVID-19 cases, but an increase in the
number of deaths.
Reported new cases are 7 070, whilst deaths are 753. The total number of confirmed cases since
the start of the pandemic now stands at 1 430 648, whilst the death toll up to now is 42 550.
The breakdown of the new deaths are as follows:
- Kwa-Zulu Natal – 261
- Limpopo – 219
- Western Cape – 102
- Gauteng – 75
- North West – 50
- Free State – 17
- Mpumalanga – 16
- Northern Cape – 7
- Eastern Cape – 6
