PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Act as the first point of contact for troubleshooting and providing technical support and is accountable for managing, monitoring and reporting on the IT-related issues through the organisation’s IT service desk and ensure that logged tickets are resolved within SLA.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS WILL INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Record all service requests and incidents in the service desk management system.
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve technical problems.
  • Assist with the implementation of IT solutions.
  • Keep users informed about the status of their service requests.
  • Support and train staff on new software and hardware systems
  • Maintain an inventory of all IT assets and equipment.
  • Produce regular reports on service desk performance and productivity.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

The following are minimum requirements for the position:

  • Degree in Information Technology or related field
  • COMPTIA A+ certification/ ITIL Foundation accreditation
  • itSMF – IT Service Management Forum / Helpdesk Institute membership
  • 1 -2 years’ experience in an IT helpdesk or customer service role.
  • Understanding of IT systems, software, and hardware.
