PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Act as the first point of contact for troubleshooting and providing technical support and is accountable for managing, monitoring and reporting on the IT-related issues through the organisation’s IT service desk and ensure that logged tickets are resolved within SLA.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS WILL INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Record all service requests and incidents in the service desk management system.
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve technical problems.
- Assist with the implementation of IT solutions.
- Keep users informed about the status of their service requests.
- Support and train staff on new software and hardware systems
- Maintain an inventory of all IT assets and equipment.
- Produce regular reports on service desk performance and productivity.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
The following are minimum requirements for the position:
- Degree in Information Technology or related field
- COMPTIA A+ certification/ ITIL Foundation accreditation
- itSMF – IT Service Management Forum / Helpdesk Institute membership
- 1 -2 years’ experience in an IT helpdesk or customer service role.
- Understanding of IT systems, software, and hardware.
